The View From A Mountain Top

I live in a very diverse country as I mentioned here so I wouldn't have to get a passport and travel too far to see most things. Canada has mountains and prairies, oceans, lakes and rivers. I have traveled from one end of the country to the other (which is roughly 4000 miles) I have seen the Atlantic Ocean and I have seen the Pacific Ocean, I have been in all the provinces of my country other than Newfoundland and Laborador, and I haven't been to the Territories...which I would love to go to one day so I can say I have been all through this great country.

I have many friends from the great province of Newfoundland and they tell me there are sights there you will never see else where...this is a photo of an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland, and watching whales is a great adventure there as well. I would love to go there one day and see what every one is talking about.

In my travels I passed through another place in Canada that is well known, this is Fernie British Columbia. Fernie is known for it's skiing but since I am not a skier that is not why I want to return to this place. I went there in the summer and it was beautiful, you are surrounded by mountains on every side. I would love to return to this town when there is snow capping these beautiful mountains.

But I would love to leave my little world as well, there are many places I would love to see but these are the top on my list...

Scotland

I have always wanted to go here, my mother told me her family was from here and I always wanted to see what they left behind. I have seen pictures of castles and beautiful scenery and it is somewhere I always wanted to go. When I was about 24 my husband was sent there on a temporary duty with the Air Force and he brought back pictures that made me want to go more.

Australia

I have heard many great things about this place, I have always wanted to go. The photos I have seen of the Sydney Opera House are amazing and make me want to go.

New Zeland

I have to admit I am a bad person and always thought that Australia and New Zeland were basically the same, but I recently read a book that told me that the natives of these two countries would roast me alive for this thought...and from the pictures I can see they are two different places and I would love to go to see both.

Alaska

I live pretty far north in Canada and I can see the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis but nothing like I am told they can be seen in places like Alaska. I have wanted to take a cruise to alaska up the coast from Vancouver and drive around and then drive back home...one day I will. I love the mountains and I have heard Alaska is one of the best places to see them along with ocean views.

Ireland

My father's side of the family is supposed to be from Ireland...and I believe some of my mother's side as well. Similar to my reasons for wanting to go to Scotland I would love to see Ireland, the castles, the beautiful landscape, the history.

Greek Isles

This is a new addition to my list...I saw the movie Momma Mia and I couldn't get over how amazingly beautiful the scenery in this movie was. I since added this beautiful place to my list.

Hawaii

A few years back my mother in law went on a trip with her husband and son in law to Hawaii, the pictures were beautiful. I am not really a laying on the beach kind of person but the scenery of this place was amazing. Something you have to see for yourself i think.

Switzerland

As you can see mountains and landscapes are top on my list of places to see, and Switzerland boasts some of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth, ones I hope to see one day.

Germany

After high school my best friend went on an exchange program to Germany, and the photos she returned with told me one day I wanted to see this place as well. Similar to Scotland and Ireland the castles, landscape and history call me to Germany.

Italy

This is another new one added to my list. I am not Catholic but after reading DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown I am intrigued to see the places from these books. I am not a person for tourist traps so I am not sure if this is some where I will actually see in my life but to be able to picture what I read would be great.

As you can see to me I am not interested to travelling on the world most travelled. I want to see the places that you can see how amazing the world is. I want to see the beauty God has spread through out the world. Mountains, oceans, lakes and hillsides this is what I want to see. I don't want to go to places that millions of people go to everyday because I am really not a crowd person but I would climb to the top of a mountain to see the world.
