Yesterday was my birthday and as I have many years out of my life I was quite sick and spent the majority of the day in bed. As long as I can remember I have been sick on the two biggest holidays of the year...my birthday and Christmas...it is like some unwritten rule that I shalt be sick on those two days. Well this year was a good one I had both a stomach flu and a sinus cold...the stomach flu is gone now and sinus cold seems to be moving down into my chest :(
Anyway dispite the fact I was sick my husband tried to make my birthday nice. He brought home Chinese food for supper and only ordered the things I like. Then he got me the cutest cake ever. Usually I get a black forest cake or a DQ ice cream cake but this year I got a Baby Pooh Bear cake ... it was adorable and I would say didn't taste too bad either but I have a cold so it tasted about the same as the Chinese food...blah :(
My husband is bad at spoiling me, every holiday he spends way too much no matter how many times I tell him not to and this birthday was no exception. He bought me a new scanner (our old one died)...I asked for this one as it scans pictures and negatives and I have a ton of those I need to scan. He also got me a camera bag for the new camera I got for Christmas...both of these things I asked for I just didn't think I would get them both...
On Tuesday I have my Pathfinder meetings (Girl Guides) and since it was my birthday I decided I would take them to the movies....we went to see "he's just not that into you" It wasn't quite what I expected but pretty good none the less. It revealed some of the dating secrets, but one thing I thought as I was watching the movie is that if you are totally into someone it doesn't matter to you if they aren't...after all what do they say "love is blind." I invited last year's leader to come with us to the movies and she brought the most adorable cupcakes for my birthday...there were kitty faces and then paws with fishbones in them...again I tried one but I can't really say what they tasted like :(
So considering the fact that I stayed in bed most of the day...felt horrible the rest of it, it wasn't too bad of a birthday...could have been worse and trust me I have had worse. I would like to say that being another year older has made me see life clearer, or has given me a brighter outlook on life...given me a direction or path...but it hasn't I am just older not wiser. I was told when I was younger that the older you get the wiser you become and in some ways I can see how that can be because of your experiences, but another year older and another year wiser...can't see that one :)

Happy Belated Birthday! Sorry you had to be sick for it though. That always kinda stinks. Great idea with the movie trip for your Scouts. Every time we take our troops to the movies there's always an issue because we have to take EVERYONE to see the same movie and three year olds don't exactly like the same movies as eighteen year olds LOL.
First of all I just have to ask who painted the chef on your kitchen wall?? DId you do that?? It is SOOOOO cute! Of course, Happy Birthday! It stinks that you haven't been feeling well :( I think that same cold + stomache bug has been going around down here too. The cake and cupcakes are both adorable and I hope you get enough enjoyment out of your gifts to make up for feeling bad (((hugs)))
Awwww, I am so sorry you were sick, but I hope you are feeling better! Thanks for the movie review, I've been "thinking" about that movie.
The cake and the cupcakes are both so adorable!
I am so glad your hubby spoils you! You deserve it! Many hugs!
Awe! even though you were sick, you looked like you had a wonderful birthday!
