I recently did a challenge in which I was supposed to write the things that cracked me up and I couldn't remember specifics so I thought I would start a post about the funny things my 5 year old says that cracks me up :)

So here is the first story...my son has been exceptionally well behaved this past week so when his dad and I went shopping I told him I would bring him something. Now remember like all children he has more toys than he knows what to do with, he isn't really an artsy fartsy kind of kid, and the video games he likes to play are expensive. So I had to be creative in what I brought back. Oh ya and he isn't allowed candy and chocolate :) So we went into a music store for my husband to look at guitars and while we were in there they had plastic harmonicas in there and thought I bet he would like that, so I picked him up one. When I told him I had something for him he wanted to know what it was, I gave him a hint saying it made music.
Well he made some guesses, whistle; drum sticks; piano; guitar. I loved the fact that he thought I bought him a piano for being good. Anyway the next morning he got his harmonica and he loved it, he walked around the house playing it for anyone who wanted to listen. Of course he can't play anything 'real' but he can make some nice sounding songs with it...he tells me that a harmonica is something you don't play songs on you create songs with.
But later that day we were talking about his request for a piano. First I wanted to know if he seriously wanted a piano and if he thought I could afford to buy him one. The conversation was so funny because he was so serious, like of course I have the money to buy him a real piano. And then he cracked me up by sternly telling me that if I was to buy him a piano it would go in his room of course. Of course what was I thinking there is room in a preschoolers room for all their toys and a piano right :)
My son has an amazing talent for music and makes an instrument out of anything I hope that one day he gets that piano in his room...but first he needs a bigger room ;)
