Weekly Update

April 13-19/09
Monday was another long day, we left Brooks at 1pm and arrived home just before 8pm...I hate that trip, it isn't a long trip as far as they go but it just seems so long, it just seems that you travel for so many more hours than what you are actually traveling.  I was glad to be home and thankful not to have to take that trip again for awhile...I did have gravol for the trip home so it wasn't as bad as the trip down :)

Tuesday was Ariel's first shift at her new job.  She came home saying that she hated cookies...why you ask because she had to face shelves (for those of you not in the retail business that means she had to pull the product forward to make the shelf look full when it isn't) and cookie packages don't balance nicely and kept falling over :(...

Wednesday and Thursday were just normal days in the neighbourhood, nothing worth mentioning happened.

Friday was a crazy day.  Brittany left for her trip to Pioneer Ranch with her Girl Guide unit this morning, it is off for a weekend of camping and horseback riding I am sure she will have a blast.  Ariel had her high school registration meeting with the counselor today, Christopher went with her to sign her up for her classes for next year...we are both very proud of her as she has been recommended for the advanced level courses, she is also taking French something she has been bucking me with since the start of junior high???Teenagers?  Then it was off to raise money for her end of junior high school trip by working for the Bingo hall...what an interesting evening.  I was quite disappointed with the attitude of the other parents, the school she attends tends to be very clicky and the same parents are asked to do things over and over again, and then they look down the noses of the parents that don't get asked to help...like it is our fault.

Saturday was the day that made me thankful I never had a normal teenage boy...sorry Nathan.  When Nathan was a teenager (okay technically he still is) but when he was a young teenager he wasn't as loud and obnoxious as Ariel's friends and when you put a bunch of them in a room together your sanity slips out the window.  Anyway Ariel had her 15th birthday party on Saturday and if you want to know all the details read here.

Sunday was re-coup day...after the loudness and craziness from yesterday we needed a day just for peace and quiet...although that never lasts too long around here.
