Weekly Roundup

March 30-April 5/09
Monday brought another round of bad news...My Aunt passed away this afternoon.  I was not close to this Aunt...let's be honest with the family the size of mine we aren't close in a lot of areas.  My mother has six siblings, one full sibling and 5 half siblings.  The half siblings are older than my mother and they didn't grow up in the same household.  One of these half siblings, my Aunt Yvonne married a man named Art Henry....a few years later my mother would marry a man named Allen Henry...yes they were brothers.  My Aunt and Uncle divorced many years ago but no matter what they were still family :) and I got on 'F' on a health 9 family tree project due to it :)  Anyway this Aunt passed away today.  I don't know the details, I do know that she was sick for some time and that this was not a surprise.  I didn't really know her as we moved away from her and her family in 1979 and in the past 30 years I have seen her twice, and we didn't keep in touch.  It is tragic that any one has to pass on but that is the cycle of life and I am sure she is in a better place now.  Rest in Peace Aunt Yvonne.

I started 'New Moon' by Stephanie Meyer tonight...we went shopping at Wal-Mart and they had some copies in, so the obsession continues :)

Tuesday Ariel had a job interview at Sobey's (grocery store) today.  Ariel got a job starting April 14th, hopefully she takes this job more seriously than the last one...and she can finally start paying her own phone bill :)

Wednesday is the first of April already man this year has flown by fast.  Usually this day has no meaning to me, silly jokes and goofy pranks are not my thing.  But this year is different, there is a new member to our "family" who was born on this day.  Although we didn't get to see her as she was at college we hope Joelle had a great birthday.

Ariel's teacher got us good though, a notice was sent home about needles they had to have and her dad and I both read it and really never noticed the errors or the fact that school policy doesn't permit them to give needles without parental concent.  Ariel even played it up by saying there was a horrible notice about needles.

Thursday is the doodlebops concert.  Christopher and I are taking Connor to this concert.  The Doodlebops are a Canadian "band", it is a television show for preschoolers where the rock and bop and teach kids morals through music.  For the longest time it was one of Connor's shows until he became a real boy and wanted to watch Batman, Spiderman, the XMen you know 'boy' shows.  This is the first kiddy concert I have been to as we always lived too far from centers that hosted kids concerts so it should be interesting.  Ariel is annoyed that she can't go...but she is a very unique 15 year old...the details of the concert and photos are posted here.

Friday Connor's preschool took a trip to the school that he will be attending Kindergarten at.  Of course they showed the preschooler's Kindergarten is all fun and games but he had a blast anyway...
I stayed with him and his class after the field trip and had a blast (I have to photoshop the photos as they turned out really dark) but the kids learnt three new songs Herman the Worm, I'm A Little Teapot and Bringing Home My Baby Bumblebee...Connor had a blast.
Saturday Connor went to his first birthday party today that wasn't for a family member.  He has never been to a party that he stayed and Mommy went home.  I am not sure who was more anxious about this him or me.  We went to every store in town..okay well there is only two, looking for the Buzz Lightyear that 'Seth' had asked for.  For two hours before the party Connor was so excited we could barely contain him.  I know it doesn't show in this picture but he really was excited.  And from what I hear he had a great time.  My baby is growing up :(

Sounds like you had a mostly awesome week! :)

You have the busiest weeks ever! That photo of Connor and the invite is hilarious! He looks like this party is going to be torture!

I think you did a great job on Photoshoping the photos, they look really natural!

I want to know what you think about New Moon as soon as it's done!
